Detailed Description
This case study tries to gain a proper understanding of RBCs in district Jamui of Bihar vis-à-vis its effectiveness in promoting inclusive education and growth for girls. In the course of the field research that spanned for two weeks, the team conducted structured and semi-structured interviews with children, parents, teachers, community leaders etc. The study informs that various barriers like gender, caste, religion, political situation, custom and tradition etc have kept the focus groups from fully integrating into the society. Having identified the barriers to effective operation of the RBCs, the study recommends sensitization and training of officials, collaboration between various government departments, proper documentation, and governmental operation of the RBCs. On the basis of the findings, the research reveals that this intervention has both the capacity and capability of helping marginalized groups in gaining access to their fundamental rights.
